Privacy Policy

The Law Firm of Nina L. Kaufman, Esq. respects and values your privacy. 

This Privacy Policy details how The Law Firm of Nina L. Kaufman, Esq. (hereinafter referred to as “The Firm”, “us” or “we”) treats the information that is gathered about you when you use, sign up or register on any of The Firm’s websites including http://www.askthebusinesslawyer.com and http://www.businesspartnershipcentral.com (hereinafter referred to as the “Sites”).  By registering on the Sites, you expressly consent to the collection, use, disclosure and storage of such information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Collection of Information: 

Non Personally Identifiable Information (Cookies):
The Firm uses cookies solely for internal recordkeeping, external statistics about our users as a whole and aggregating data about the traffic on the Sites.  If you would prefer not to have cookies on your computer, you can block by selecting that option on your computer and/or internet browser.

Personally Identifiable Information:
When you register on the Sites, The Firm may require that you provide certain personally identifiable information which may include, but is not necessarily limited to:
• first and last name,
• physical address;
• credit card information;
• telephone number; and
• email address.

The Firm may also request other personally identifiable information, which you may choose whether or not to provide which is treated in the same manner as all other personally identifiable information under this privacy policy. 

We do not allow children under the age of 13 on the Sites, nor do we knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from any person under the age of 13.  If we are informed by a parent or guardian that personally identifiable information has been collected from a person under the age of 13, we will immediately remove the personally identifiable information that may have been inadvertently collected by The Firm.  In addition, if we are informed by a parent or guardian that we have collected personally identifiable information from a minor, we will be happy to remove from our records at the parent or guardian’s request. 

Use of Personally Identifiable Information:
The Firm will use the personally identifiable information that it collects about you to contact you in response to consumer-initiated inquiries, to provide the services to you that you request, to alert you to changes in services or features, and to provide you with requested information regarding The Firm or our services.  We also may, from time to time, contact you about offers that we, or third parties with which we may partner, have that we believe, in our sole discretion, may interest you.

The Firm reserves the right to release current or past user information:
(a) In the event that we believe that the Sites are being or have been used to commit unlawful acts;
(b) Upon receipt of a properly authorized and authenticated governmental request for information;
(c) In response to a subpoena or a court order,
(d) To comply with relevant laws;
(e) In response to an investigation of fraud or other wrongdoing regarding a specific consumer;
(f) In an effort to safeguard the person or property of a The Firm employee or a third party; or
(g) If The Firm is sold or acquired.

Moreover, you hereby consent to disclosure of any record or communication to any third party when The Firm, in its sole discretion, determines the disclosure to be appropriate including, without limitation, sharing your e-mail address with other third parties for suppression purposes in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, as amended from time to time.

If you no longer wish to receive emails from us which you have not specifically initiated, you may opt-out of receiving these communications by following the instructions contained in the applicable e-mail.  The Firm processes all unsubscribe requests in a prompt fashion.

International Users:
By using the Sites and providing The Firm with data, you understand and agree that due to the international dimension of the Internet, The Firm may use the data collected in the course of our relationship as set forth in this Privacy Policy or in other communications with you, including the transmission of information outside your resident jurisdiction. In addition, you acknowledge that your personally identifiable information and other data may be stored on servers located in the United States or in other international locations. By providing us with your information, you consent to the transfer and storage of such information.

Third Party Sites:
When you register for promotions found on The Firm websites, you will actually be registering your information with that third party company (namely, www.KickStartCart.com), not The Firm.  By doing so, you agree to that company’s privacy policy.  Please make sure that you read and agree to that policy prior to submitting your personally identifiable information to the third party company.

The Firm may also direct you to third party websites.  Those websites are not affiliated with The Firm and their privacy policies may differ from The Firm’s privacy policy.  The Firm is in no way responsible for the privacy policies or treatment of information from third party websites and strongly encourages you to review the privacy policies of every website you visit to determine what information they collect and how such information is handled by that website.

Storage of Information:
Although The Firm does not release your personally identifiable information to the public and The Firm makes a reasonable good faith effort to store your personally identifiable information in a secure operating environment, we cannot guarantee 100% security of such information due to factors beyond our control.

Security:
The Firm does not ever store your credit card information.  Credit card transactions are provided through a financial gateway owned by KickStartCart.com.  The financial gateway uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) software to assure the protection of your credit card transactions as they are transferred over the Internet.  However, although we take reasonable technological precautions to protect your credit card information and other data in transmission, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  As such, The Firm cannot warrant that your information will be absolutely secure.  Any transmission of data, financial or otherwise, through the Sites is at your own risk.
